Hello everyone.
Thanks to everyone for your continued prayers and we will try to update whenever we know more information.
Maddie‘s condition is getting better slowly. Overnight she woke up a little bit more from the anesthesia they had to give her during the cath procedure and when we arrived, she stirred. After we talked with her and held her hands, she responded by moving her arms and legs and moving her mouth. She was totally asleep yesterday so this is a good sign. However, because she is still on the bypass machine, they had to give her some more sedation, so she’s sleeping again.
The doctor came to give us an update and said they would try to wean her off the bypass machine around 6AM tomorrow morning. If all goes well, they will remove the machine entirely and she will be relying on her own heart and lungs after that. They are still concerned about any damage to the brain or organs during the CPR on Weds and how she will do after coming off the machine. Until then, they are going to let her rest and not change much in terms of treatment.
Jen and I are doing ok and plan to stay the night in her room again. There are two nurses with her at all times and the cardiac unit has doctors and surgeons available on staff all day/night. The grandparents/family are helping to take care of Abby and she understands that Maddie‘s in the hospital and the doctors are helping her rest.
Below is an image from today. Maddie is censored out, but you can see the ECMO machine and all the lines for medicine, breathing, etc.

We are so grateful for all that God has given us and know that this is part of God’s bigger plan for us. There is not much we can do and are relying on Him entirely. Please continue to pray for us.
